Devotional

In Song of Solomon 2:11-12 (NIV), the wise man wrote these wonderful warming words about seasonal change, “See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land.”

Later in biblical history, the prophet Ezekiel placed a spiritual spin on the seasons when he gave us this heartwarming prophecy about the post winter future of God’s people. “I will make a covenant of peace with them… I will make them and the places surrounding my hill a blessing. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing. The trees will yield their fruit and the ground will yield its crops; the people will be secure in their land. They will know that I am the Lord…” Ezekiel 34:25-27 (NIV)
