Leaves of Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is the part of Fall,
That brings a time liked best of all.
The trees give up their coat of leaves,
And I put on my warm long sleeves.
I watch the leaves come falling down,
Some are red, others golden brown.
I rake them up into a pile,
I jump on them. It brings a smile!
I feel so blessed to have such fun,
To walk and talk and jump and run.
Thank you, God, for making me,
And all the leaves from that big tree!

Devotional

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV) “…give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

As a child, a big pile of leaves looked like hours of fun. As an adult, a big pile of leaves looks like hours of work. What changed?

Thanksgiving is a choice. It’s a matter of the heart, a matter of perspective.

“Two men looked out of prison bars,
One saw the mud, the other the stars.”
-Frederick Langbridge

This Thanksgiving, see the potential in a pile of leaves.

Oh, go ahead! Don’t be such an adult! JUMP IN THEM!
