Window Watching 1

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but don’t ever forget, it is the quiet time alone with God that feeds the soul. If you must skip one, skip breakfast.

It has been my custom to get up early each morning and stand before a window to enjoy the sunrise with my Father. The day brightens slowly, then comes the highlight of my morning. The sun slashes through the clouds like streams of light breaking through old cracks in painted glass.

I strain my eyes to look beyond the horizon, between the clouds and into the realm of my Father. That’s when I hear Him say, “Be patient my son. Be strong. One day soon I will call you home. One day soon you will see all I have prepared for you beyond the painted glass.”

Devotional

Isaiah 26:8-9 (NIV)

“Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts. My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you.”

Do you long for the presence of God? Do you anticipate and fascinate about His interaction? When the Creator becomes the desire of the heart the created becomes the joy of the Creator. Take delight in Him and He will delight in you. Know God, know peace.
