The Old Gardener

The man was visiting one of the stately castles of Europe. On a remote part of the grounds, he was surprised to find a small garden that few people visited. Despite its isolation, the finely manicured hedges, trees, and flowers were impressive.

Spotting the old gardener across the way, the man anxiously approached and struck up a conversation. He complimented the caretaker for working so hard on a garden that was so seldom seen.

“So, let me get this straight,” said the man. “Your motivation? You keep this garden beautiful as if your master is coming back tomorrow?”

“Today,” said the gardener, “as if my master is coming back today!”

Revelation 22:20 (NIV) “He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.”

He’s coming. Is your garden ready?
